Welcome Message

Welcome To Chivalry!
Server: Eonar

Whether you are a friend or guildee, we hope you will enjoy your time here learning about who we are and what we're about.

Chivalry's Library is a place where you can find everything there is to know about our guild!

Applicants, before you finish any application - know that reading the documents describing our guild is a requirement. If you can't take a few moments to read through the Guild Info in our library, we are probably not the place for you.

Guildees: Please log-in at the top of the page to gain access to Guild-Only resources, including our private forums, more extensive Library access, and private messaging.

Chivalry began as a safe haven for casual players who wanted to step back from competitive play and enjoy the experience of questing with friends in an easy-going environment. Since that time, Chivalry has flourished, accomplishing our mission to provide a family-friendly community where people can pursue their interests in a casual environment! We don't require weekly activity or demand you to play a certain way, but we do expect those who join to be a part of the community.

What we do is provide you with the structure to help you accomplish your goals - whether they be Raiding, Heroics, PVP in BGs and Arenas, World PvP, or leveling up as many alts as you can. While many of us may have limited play-time, we also want to make the most of the time we have. As you will find in our library, we have guidelines to help ensure that people will be as successful as possible!

Our forums are the hub of our guild, we share funny stories, plan in-game groups and events, and inform you of the newest `news' immediately. While we have two GMs that do have final say in guild policy and such matters, Chivalry's leadership seeks to be transparent in our decisions, and solicits feedback in our Announcements section whenever possible.

Although we do not require members to be helpful, we have worked hard to cultivate an atmosphere that balances give and take. When it is not possible to help the person who helped you, pass it on to another guildee in need! This attitude has kept us going for a long time, and has contributed to our slow, steady growth and solid friendships. We truly strive for a culture of Courtesy, Bravery, and Honor.

A note of caution: If you are the type of person who wants all the gold you can get no matter who you take it from, wants all the gear they can, takes help from others but never returns the favor, then this guild is not for you.

Despite our own active player base, we are very thankful for our longterm friend GM who has played a role in helping us get to where we are today:

Zelec, GM of Virtue et Armis

Chivalry Defeats the Blood Prince Council!
Arannel~, Mar 9, 10 12:20 AM.

Chivalry headed back into Icecrown Citadel this week to face the members of the Blood Prince Council: Prince Valanar, Prince Keleseth, and Prince Taldaram.  This encounter has proved to be very challenging, but after several nights of attempts we were able to defeat them!

Thanks to everyone for your hard work and patience while we learned this difficult encounter!

Chivalry Olympics: Round 2!
Arannel~, Mar 7, 10 7:14 PM.

This past weekend Chivalry hosted the second round of the Chivalry Olympics.  This is a fun event involving jousting, noggenfogger kamikaze, drunken boxing, hot potato, and wipe the raid.  This round we had the red team versus the blue team, however, by the end of the event I think everyone was laughing too much to actually keep track of the score.

We started out with a round of jousting at the Argent Tournament Grounds.

We then headed over to the Storm Peaks for some Nogenfogger Kamikaze.  This involves leaping off Thorim's Throne, spamming your nogenfogger, and praying you get the slowfall buff before you go splat.  Congrats to Chriton for making it the farthest in this event.  He was nearly to Crystalsong Forest before plummeting to his death.

After collecting our bodies we made our way to the Nagrand Arena for a match of drunken boxing.  Congrats to the blue team for winning this event!

We then headed to Halaa for a round of hot potato.  Unfortunately I was too busy hiding in a corner to get a good shot of the mayhem .

For our final event we headed to Karazhan for Wipe the Raid.  During this event we took off all of our equipment except for our weapons and ranged slot items and then various raid members were tasked with wiping the raid before each boss.

Thanks to everyone who came out and made this event so much fun!  As always keep an eye out on the calender for upcoming fun events and raids.

Chivalry and VeA Face the Trial of the Crusader!
Arannel~, Jan 31, 10 2:36 PM.

On Saturday a group of brave adventurers from Chivalry and Virtute et Armis faced the challenges found within the Argent Coliseum as they participated in The Trial of the Crusader (25).  All of the bosses were successfully defeated!  Thanks to everyone from both guilds who participated and congrats to everyone who came away with some shiny new loot!

Below are a few screenshots from the event.

Upcoming Event: ToC25 w/ VeA
Arannel~, Jan 25, 10 9:59 AM.

Date: Saturday 1/30/10
Time: 7pm (est/server)

Chivalry is joining forces with our friend guild Virtute et Armis to take on the 25 person version of Trial of the Crusader. This is an awesome chance to face challenge 25 person content, get some still very useful loot, and mostly have fun in a larger raid setting with great people.

If we finish off TotC 25 within our 3 hour raid slot we will move on to Ony 25, VoA 25 (the four boss Toravan may be accessible by then!!!) or even the first boss in ICC 25.

6 important notes:

1) Note the earlier start time to help out folks on the east coast.

2) Gear checks will be done for this run. Anyone ready for ICC 10 will be a go, although we will likely take folks a bit below that level too.

3) As with all challenging raids we expect members to be fully enchanted and mostly gemmed in epic gems.

4) You must come prepared with the normal raid materials--flasks, food (some fish feasts provided but bring some individual food in case we don't have one out), health/mana pots, reagents for any spells, & dps burst pots (wild magic/speed/etc)

5) You must have up-to-date versions of deadly boss mods, omen, and vent

6) BRING YOUR PVP TRINKET or equivalent ability for the faction champions fight. Know your burst damage rotations for quick kills & your CC abilities.

UPDATE: Please accept the ingame calendar invite as well as signing up here so that VEA has an easy record too.

Chivalry Takes on the Plagueworks
Arannel~, Jan 21, 10 10:50 AM.

Monday evening a brave group of raiders from Chivalry ventured back into Icecrown Citadel to take on the bosses found in the Plagueworks.  First up were the two abominations Festergut and Rotface.  We decided to take on the harder of the two bosses (Rotface) first.  After taking a few attempts to perfect our ooze kiting and slime avoidance techniques, we were able to defeat him.

Festergut was up next and we managed to defeat him on our first attempt.

Next up we faced the mastermind behind these two abominations: Professor Putricide.

Although we were not able to defeat him, it appears that Professor Putricide will be a fun (although complicated) encounter to learn and we were making some good progress on learning how to deal with his abilities when our raid time came to an end.

In other raiding news, Chivalry headed back into Ulduar Tuesday evening to take on some of the achievements and hardmodes.

Hardmodes Completed:
Heartbreaker (XT-002 Deconstructor Hardmode)
I Choose You, Steelbreaker (Iron Council Hardmode)

Achievements Completed:
Dwarfageddon
Shutout
Unbroken
A Quick Shave
With Open Arms

Chivalry Storms the Citadel
Arannel~, Dec 30, 09 12:29 PM.

Over the past several weeks Chivalry has been aiding the Alliance forces in their siege of Ice Crown Citadel.  While Lord Marrowgar, Lady Deathwhisper, and the Gunship battle were all defeated during week one of our efforts; Deathbringer Saurfang proved to be quite a challenge for our brave raiders.  Last night, however, he was no match for Chivalry as we perfected our strategy and were able to defeat him.

I won't spoil the specifics for anyone, but we were also treated with a cutscene after defeating Saurfang that showed us that our normally hotheaded King Varion Wrynn may not be so bad afterall.

Great work everyone!  I can't wait to see what awaits us when the next wing opens!
